Market: Mumbai City win
Odds: 6/11 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the ISL table, Mumbai City will make the trip to Jamshedpur on Friday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, despite claiming a January boost earlier in the month thanks to a 2-1 victory away at East Bengal, Jamshedpur came immediately crashing back down to earth. Last seen getting hit with a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Bengaluru, Aidy Boothroyd’s side find themselves battling it out at the foot of the ISL table. Already sat 13 points adrift of breaking into the top-half, the one-time Watford boss has seen his struggling squad muster just a single top-flight victory from their previous 13 straight attempts. With that nightmare run of form stemming all the way back to October 30th, the Red Miners will be more than aware that they face another huge challenge here. It should also be highlighted, Jamshedpur have claimed just two points from their last six ISL matchups at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
As for the visitors, only continuing on what has been a stellar purple patch, Mumbai have their sights set on making real ISL history this season. Last seen putting in another thumping display as they breezed their way to a 4-0 romp at home against North East United, the Sky Blues are now holding a four-point buffer over the chasing pack. In fact, on what has become an astonishing extended flurry, Des Buckingham’s men have won each of their previous 10 straight top-flight battles – a run that stems all the way back to November 6th. Likewise, not suffering a single ISL defeat so far this season, Friday’s guests have also gained a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third. Already bagging 45 top-flight strikes this season, we’re backing what could be an enjoyable away victory this weekend.
